Bugs • Images from DSLR edited from Photos don't save back

When using the Edit With option in Apple Photos, I can happily edit iPhone photos, but while images from my Sony DSLR also load up in Pixelmator Pro, any edits don't make it back to the Photos app.

Any ideas what is happening here?
